The “Marsh Marigold” home for mother’s of newborns and children is located in Borsod county, one of the most beautiful yet poorest regions of Hungary. The only home in the region.

Many young Hungarian mothers, who gave birth to their child at the age of 13, have been abandoned. They have neither a shelter nor perspectives nor are they helped by their families. The “Marsh Marigold” home offers shelter to the young mothers with their newborns. Without this support the young mothers would be alone; some of whom suffer from mental disability.

Additionally, volunteer employees take loving care of the currently 100 orphaned newborns in the Mother-Children’s Home, who require intensive care due to their partially severe physical and mental disabilities.

The “Marsh Marigold” building’s walls, window frames, handrails, hallways as well as the exterior façade are in a serious state of decay. The only shelter the young mothers and their newborns have is on the verge of going to rack and ruin. This is where the LR GLOBAL KIDS FUND e.V. intends to take action and provide support. It is of major importance to the association to give new perspectives locally. The first step towards this is the renovation and repair of the building.
