Germany

Child poverty in Germany – a serious subject. More than 2.5 million children in Germany are living below the poverty line and the tendency is increasing.

The children affected often suffer from emotional and social deficiency. According to a survey conducted by the Munich-based children’s aid organisation Kinderhilfswerk Arche e.V. in answer to the question “What would you like to be when you grow up?” the majority replied “a recipient of social benefits”; in second place was "policeman", and third place "millionaire".

We want to offer these children a perspective, and have therefore decided to enter into partnership with the Arche e.V. organisation. Together we are fighting against child poverty in Germany.

Under the motto “for a promising future”, we have provided Arche e.V. with a new and completely-furnished educational facility, as well as a computer and play learning area in the new common room. We are also supplying more learning material in the form of an additional remedial coach and, with our annual “discovery tour”, providing the kids with positive reinforcement through unforgettable experiences.
